The only official recording by the legendary free jazz + punk folk band 'Mikami Hiroshi and Aoba Castle, ' the original soundtracks for the 1973 Toei films 'Neon Jellyfish' and 'Neon Jellyfish Shinjuku Flower Train' are released for the first time as a 2-CD set.'Mikami Hiroshi and Aobajo' was a trio consisting of the godfather of Japanese punk, Mikami Hiroshi, the famous drummer, Furusawa Ryojiro, and Anzai Hisashi (Kitaro), a bassist known for Oki Itaru's band, who were active for a very short time in 1973. With a style in which the drums and bass improvised throughout and the vocals screamed, the band became legendary among fans who saw the Mikami Hiroshi and Aobajo concert 'Shoot for Love and Hope' at the Ochanomizu France-Japan Hall on June 27, 1973, as the Jacks of the 70s! It has become a band that punks especially want to listen to.This soundtrack CD album is a compilation of 40 takes used in the film and 21 unused takes as bonus tracks from the 99 tracks of the 6mm master tapes of 'Neon Jellyfish' and 'Neon Jellyfish Shinjuku Flower Train' left at Toei. DISC-1 'Neon Jellyfish' has music by Mikami Hiroshi, and DISC-2 'Neon Jellyfish Shinjuku Flower Train' has music by Mikami Hiroshi and pianist Shibuya Takeshi. Both are extremely valuable, containing many takes with free jazz and jazz rock developments performed by Mikami Hiroshi and Aoba Jo with piano by Shibuya Takeshi and saxophone by Sakata Akira and Nakamura Seiichi.Disc Neon Jellyfish Original Soundtrack1.
