Import collection containing tracks that feature Blues guitarist Johnny Jones, recorded between 1956 and 1966. Johnny was featured on 'Pipe Dreams', a hit for the Champion label and on 'Nightmare' his funky low string licks sound like they could have been an early influence on Steve Cropper. In the early 1960's Johnny formed the King Casuals who performed regularly as the house band at the famous Modern Era night club. When Johnny Jones left the King Casuals to form the Imperial Seven, (later called the Beat Boys), Jimi Hendrix replaced Johnny in the band. Johnny and the Imperial Seven became the house band for Bill "Hoss" Allen's Athens and Hermitage record labels, as well as the house band for the Nashville television show Night Train in 1964 and 1965. Then rechristened the Beat Boys, became the house band for the legendary American syndicated television show THE !!!! BEAT in 1966. The last two tracks on the CD are two interludes from THE !!!! BEAT. 24 tracks.
