One of the great singing cowboys originally discovered by Gene Autry, Jimmy Wakely became one of the most popular western singers of the late 1940's as well as starring in several cowboy movies, and by 1962 had sold over 15 million records. In the mid-1960's he started his own record label and released albums by country stars Johnny Bond, Noel Boggs and others. Jimmy also produced a record for his son, John C. Wakely, which is presented here. The album entitled "Country Son of a Western Singer" features John C. singing several country pop hits including "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "King of the Road" and "Green Green Grass of Home." All selections newly remastered.
