John Coltrane - Trane Meets The Tenors

John Coltrane racked up a number of sideman appearances on sessions recorded at the Van Gelder studios. Released under various leaders' names, the albums resulting from these dates included several in which Coltrane went toe-to-toe with other tenor saxophonists like Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Rollins, Frank Wess, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn and more.
