Popular American country-Western singer and actor, Jimmy Wakely was one of the last of the singing cowboys who had a very successful recording career beginning in the 1930's, remained popular for over three decades and became widely famous via Gene Autry's legendary Melody Ranch radio show which debuted on CBS in January 1940.
