Jim Cohen - Pedal Steel Jazz

Pedal steel guitarist, Jim Cohen, has at long last released an album of all jazz tunes. Fans are already familiar with his tasteful renditions of diverse musical styles including British Rock and Pop tunes and he has been known to cover a few Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins tunes in the past. On 'Pedal Steel Jazz', he teams up with an all-star lineup of some of the greatest Philadelphia area jazz players including jazz guitar legend, Jimmy Bruno, as well as pianist Frank Strauss, bassists Chico Huff and Steve Beskrone, and drummer Grant MacAvoy. To sweeten the pot even further, Jim is here joined, on an original blues tune, by 6 of the world's greatest living steel guitarists, including Maurice Anderson (Bob Wills' Texas Playboys), Lucky Oceans (Asleep at the Wheel), Randy Beavers (LeAnn Womack), Buck Reid (Lyle Lovett), Doug Jernigan (Vassar Clements band), and Chuck Campbell (Campbell Brothers).
