As one of the few Indian-American kids in town, high schooler Samidha (Megan Suri) had her own problems with assimilating, and she didn't have time for now-estranged childhood bestie Tamira (Mohana Krishnan) and her bizarre insistence on carrying a mason jar around. When Samidha smashes the vessel out of frustration, however, she learns Tamira's claims it contained a malevolent demon were horribly true.
