The GRAMMY-« award winning band Irakere are probably the most creative, influential performers from Cuba and pioneers of the modern Timba style of Cuban music. This album is the first issue on CD of the band's legendary BBC recording at Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham, made at a pivotal point in the group's career. It features the great Chucho Valdes - another GRAMMY-« winner - on piano in addition to the12-piece ensemble with four vocalists. The live recording was transferred, edited and remastered in high-definition 24-bit sound at Abbey Road Studios.
