Theo Caulder (Cuba Gooding Jr..) is an ambitious psychiatrist who has been asked to evaluate the case of anthropologist Ethan Powell (Anthony Hopkins), who is being held captive in prison for the criminally insane. Both men embark on a a journey that is fueled by their hunger for the truth, questioning their own essence and the world we live in today, regardless of the cost.
