The Scene in London and it's DJ, Guy Stevens, along with several other venues is one of the most historically important but it's fame is arguably overshadowed by Manchester's Twisted Wheel and it's hugely influential DJ, Roger Eagle to whom this CD is devoted. Here then are 24 tracks first played at one of Britain's greatest clubs featuring some of the greatest club records of all time from Fats Domino, Bobby Bland, Booker T & The MGs, John Lee Hooker, Little Milton and more. Roger Eagle had an undeniable influence over the acceptance of American soul and R&B in the UK and the sounds presented on this excellent release went on to influence the development of British popular music. This collection is a must have for anyone interested in, or who was around during, the Mod movement.
