Everything was just right, if not perfect, for Hod O'Brien's performance at Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. on July 6th and 7th, 2004 - a receptive audience was there for both nights, recording engineer Jim Anderson captured the music and club ambiance, the great rhythm section of bassist Ray Drummond and drummer Kenny Washington shined, and pianist Hod O'Brien was at his very best. The trio dug into Sonny Rollins' "Pent-up House," and they don't let up for the next 57 minutes. They also performed tunes like Billy Strayhorn's "Snibor," Randy Weston's "Little Niles," "How About You," "Love Letters," and the Ellington/Strayhorn melody of "Do Nothing 'til You Hear from Me" and "Take the a Train."
