Highasakite - In and Out Of Weeks

Highasakite's blend of 1960 s American pop, Norwegian folk, shimmering synthesizers and more far-flung touches like zither and autoharp make for a sturdy foundation on which Håvik's rich voice can rest. Her English cadence is endearingly Norwegian, and it suits her heartfelt lyrics. In and out of weeks runs the gamut of timbres and emotions, from mid-tempo rockers to wistful ballads. It's all undeniably poppy, but there's true substance and depth here that's unmatched by their contemporaries. Coming a long way from their humble beginnings as a duo, Highasakite has steadily built enough momentum to break out of their homeland. Called "a thing of hazy loveliness" by NME, they'll be making their US touring debut with March dates in NY and LA and appearances at SXSW 2013.
