Henri Rene - Compulsion to Swing in Rhythm

2009 collection. The esteemed arranger, conductor and producer Henri René worked with names such as Harry Belafonte, Eartha Kitt and many others. René also released several successful LPs of his own and here we focus on two of them: Compulsion to Swing and Riot in Rhythm. From the bouncy theme of 'Hansel And Pretzel', with it's call and response section proving that the orchestra is awake, to Gershwin's 'Blah, Blah, Blah' and a reworking of 'Stars And Stripes' into 'The Swinging Stars And Stripes', this is truly a riotous affair! Wonderfully re-mastered, these full stereo recordings show off the excellent fidelity of the originals.
