Giordano: Fedora

Fedora moves between political thriller and crime drama, tragic love story and gripping psychological portrait, and continues to thrill audiences today with it's rich timbres and iconic melodies. In the spirit of the fin de siècle, it depicts a cosmopolitan elite whose private entanglements become caught up in the crossfire of political machinations. Christof Loy examines the title character in all her complexity and ambiguity, weaving a sophisticated web of relationships between the characters and captivating audiences with his masterful direction of the performers in the scenery designed by stage and costume designer Herbert Murauer.
