Giles Hedley - Rain Is Such a Lonesome Sound

2015 album from the British blues artist. Giles Hedley is an established draw at blues festivals large and small and clubs all over Britain. He is "one of Britain's foremost roots and country blues performers" (Blues Matters) and "a mainstay of the British blues scene" (Blues in Britain). Building upon his following of over 30 years, Giles is increasingly appealing to a young audience - the acoustic blues featured on Rain is Such a Lonesome Sound is perfect for the current vogue for acoustic roots music. Giles's career gives his music a rare authenticity - in the '70s he opened for some of the greatest blues players, such as Son House and Fred McDowell, as well as playing in clubs and bars all over Holland, where he had a sell-out LP. In the '90s he had residencies at two of London's most important blues bars. At the Station Tavern, Tom Jones once sat in with his band for the whole night.
