In the 18th century, a samurai slew a blind masseur for the temerity of asking that his cash debt be repaid, and had his retinue dump the body in a nearby swamp. The victim's ghost would return to wreak revenge upon the warrior and his wife-and again a generation later, when their son betrayed his smitten daughter.
