Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko

Desperate to belong in the latest of a string of new towns, 11-year-old Kikuko (voiced by Cocomi) found the biggest obstacle-as usual-to be her brassy, plus-sized, and readily exploited single mom Nikuko (Shinobu Ôtake). Her quest to finally fit in, and to accept and love her mother as she is, fuels director Ayumu Watanabe's endearing anime adaptation of the Kanako Nishi novel.
