Federale is a seven-piece ensemble based in Portland. Spearheaded by longtime Brian Jonestown Massacre bassist Colin Hegna, the band was conceived as an outlet to channel inspiration from 60s & 70s European soundtracks particularly the Spaghetti Westerns and Giallo genres. The band is known for their cinematic instrumentals as evidenced by their usage in two films by Ana Lily Amirpour including the title track to this album. On this fourth album, they've expanded their vision to narrative songs ala Lee Hazelwood, Nick Cave and Scott Walker. Murder, revenge, regret, power and corruption are the themes that run rampant through this collection. The LP component of this album is pressed on numbered 180 gram Red transluscent vinyl and includes a digital download card with bounus track featuring David J of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets.
