Farewell to the King

Nick Nolte, Nigel Havers, James Fox. During WWII, a shipwrecked U.S. Army deserter is captured and escapes certain execution from the Japanese. Found by a tribe of Borneo headhunters, they proclaim him as their king. When British commandos later find him and urge him to fight against the Japanese, he initially refuses, that is, until the Japanese attack his people. Based on the novel by Pierre Schoendoerffer.
