Emma Stackhaus - Free Love

New R&B/Hip-hop singers with the depth and creativity to cut through today's crowded music scene are few and far between - it takes a true powerhouse to break through all the noise. That's exactly what the Miami-based chanteuse Emma Stackhaus proved when she released her debut album, I Will Never Give Up, back in May of 2020 to overwhelmingly positive reviews from both industry insiders and the public alike. Emma also released a special holiday album, Have Yourself A Magically Delicious Christmas at the end of that year. While in preparation for her eagerly awaited follow-up full-length due in the near future, Emma has recorded a few cover songs to tide fans over while she adds the finishing touches to her upcoming album. The new single featured here, Free Love, is a lovingly rendered cover of Jean Carne's 1976 soul disco manifesto. Since Jean Carne has long been one of Emma's greatest influences, Emma made sure to deliver the tune with a great respect for the original while bringing something entirely new to the mix. Once again, Emma makes the tune her own in grand style - updating another vintage classic for a new generation - with instrumental and acappella takes included as an added bonus.
