Eastbound Expressway first became born in 1978, when AVI Records fell in love with a track off the first James Wells album, called "Never Let Go', but was more interested in the background vocals rather than the lead singer. Using just the girl backing singers and the music, suddenly the record became a hit on Billboard's black charts and got recognized as early R&B, to the extent that it became a cult record to this day. Eastbound Expressway became the first girl-group led disco band in 1979. Jump forward seven years to 1986 when they were reactivated for the High Energy anthem, "You're a Beat" and curiously, the follow up, "Knock Me Senseless", was a big hit in the US, and even got played at the Super Bowl. Here is a collection of hits from their impressive career. Digitally remastered.
