Dulie - Joyous Ride

This fusion Album is produced, composed and arranged by lead guitarist Dulie who uses his custom made C-90 Brian Moore Guitar to record these tracks. Dulie's very first band at the age of 16 consisted of Omar Hakim(Drums) and Jerry Brooks(Bass). Over the years Dulie has performed and/or recorded with these amazing artists: Herbie Hancock, Paul Taylor, Victor Wooten, Rachel Z, Urban Knights (featuring Ramsey Lewis, Victor Bailey, Maysa, Omar Hakim, Art Porter), Michael Urbaniak, Lionel Richie, Angie Stone, Mary J Blige, Tom Jones, GURU, Fatback Band, Isaac Hayes, Toshi Kubota, Odyssey, Ben E. King, Stevie Wonder to name a few. Omar Hakim, long time friend and an exceptional drummer (for artists such as Daft Punk, Madonna, Sting, Weather Report, Miles Davis, David Bowie, Nile Rogers and many more) plays Roland V-drums on Tracks 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 10 of Joyous Ride. Check out Omar's amazing drum solo breaks on track 6 'What It Is'! Gene Lake, an excellent drummer (for artists such as David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Me'Shell NdegeOcello to name a few) plays on Tracks 3 & 5 of Joyous Ride. Absolutely listen to Gene's awesome drum solo over the 7/4 vamp of track 3 'The Journey'! Brian Dunne, another incredible drummer (for 'Live from Daryl's House' and many other artists such as Average White Band, Chuck Loeb, Dave Mann and Patti Austin) plays on Tracks 7 & 8. Brian plays such an incrediblly graceful syncopated drum fill near the end of Track 7 'Fuchsia'! Jerry Brooks, long time friend and an extraordinary bassist (for artists such as Chieli Minucci, Chuck Loeb, D'Angelo to name a few). Jerry plays outstanding strong, warm and solid bass-lines throughout all 10 tracks of Joyous Ride. Jerry easily and skillfully doubles the lead guitar lines with his 6-string Ken Smith Bass on Track 6 'What It Is'. Over the top!!! John Roggie, excellent keyboardist enhances this project with his exceptional fusion synth solos and comping throughout the album! Check out John's incredible solos on Track 5 'Mist' & 6 'What It Is'! Richie Ruiz, long time friend plays and arranges excellent percussion throughout Joyous Ride. The percussion fills on Track 1 'Entrance' tasty, also check out Track 9 'Kool Samba' for his exciting montuno grooves! Geoff Mattoon plays exciting melodic saxophone on Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4 & 9. Check out Geoff's tenor solo break on Track 2 'Yokohama Lights'! Blazing!!! Leslie Ming, incredibly warm background vocals on Track 10 'Make Me Feel'. Dulie dedicates Track 8 'Good-Bye' to his sister who introduced him to the world of guitar playing at the age of 9. May her soul rest in peace.
