On a picturesque Greek isle in 2003, homeless Liberian refugee Jacqueline (Cynthia Erivo) scrounged a hand-to-mouth existence living in a beachside cave and giving foot rubs to tourists. As she reflects on a once-privileged life and the violent unrest in her homeland that brought her to this point, she might find restorative friendship from free-spirited American tour guide Callie (Alia Shawkat).
