Don Gibson - That Gibson Boy

Whilst it took until 1964 and the release of I Wrote a Song before Don Gibson made an appearance on the country album charts, he had been a regular on the singles listings since 1956 when Sweet Dreams made the Top Ten. Indeed, for several years Don appeared to have two entirely separate careers; releasing numerous singles that did not appear on any album but which made the Top Ten with regularity whilst releasing albums that struggled for recognition! That Gibson Boy was Don's fourth album (his third for RCA) and was originally released in 1959.
