Domenico Zipoli / Carlo Guandalino - Domenico Zipoli: Complete Keyboard Music

Domenico Zipoli (1688-1726) was a student of Scarlatti and Pasquini. After holding posts as composer and organist in Florence and Rome, he joined the Jesuit Society and finally settled in Argentina where he served as a missionary and continued composing. Like his teachers, Zipoli composed in the Italian keyboard style, writing for both harpsichord and organ. This album contains his complete works for keyboard. Carlo Guandalino and Laura Farabollini perform these works on a 1612 organ of Castelnuovo Scrivia, and a copy of a 17th century Taskin harpsichord.
