Discovery Of Art: Michelangelo

Michelangelo (1475-1564) redefined the artist as a creator with total freedom. A master sculptor, painter, architect, and poet, he pushed the Renaissance to it's peak, risking his career for artistic vision. In 1512, he completed the Sistine Chapel ceiling, a monumental fresco of over 300 figures depicting the Book of Genesis, solidifying his legacy as a revolutionary artist.
