Worship. An act of tribute. A paradigm. An order of daily living. What if worship was a Friday night drive, a Tuesday morning conversation, a Wednesday afternoon moment of reflection. What if worship was an act of love, a prayer set to poems, a person teaching you. What if worship woke you up at night, set your feet to dancing, sobered you to the realization of a problem's insignificance in the vast expanse of eternity. What if worship can be all these things and more. For years, I've been developing my own theory about worship. And so have you, whether you've realized it or not. Why this song and not that song, what touches us as humans and what falls flat, the difference between what is distracting extravagance and what is creative expression. Is worship in the eye of the beholder, and if so, who is the beholder? I feel led by God to sing songs from my personal experience, yet I'm constantly being shaped into new molds. And that's okay, as long as I'm abiding in Him and meeting those questions with answers in His Word. I'm calling this chapter of the story Di3M. Di3M is music, played and listened to by people who have hearts. Hearts that want to know God more closely. Hearts that want to be obedient to Him. Hearts that want to bless Him because of how richly He has blessed us. Di3M doesn't pretend to be all these things. Di3M doesn't even pretend to know what the best path to worshiping God is. Di3M simply wants to create a soundtrack for those moments. Di3M wants to be the placemat at your feast. Di3M wants to keep God in your thoughts. Di3M wants to get stuck in your head right before that tense meeting. To be present in your brain when temptations rise. Di3M wants to echo Scripture in your heart and lead you in prayer. This movement to lead has brought about a project. An album, an EP. Ultimately, this project is an offering to God. Representing a collective of artists presenting our best to our Creator. My hope is also that this simply inspires people to create their own offering for God. What do you do well that God would be honored by?
