The life of the infamous Marquis de Sade is chronicled via flashback in this American-International Pictures costume drama. While de Sade holes up in an old mansion after fleeing his asylum home, he looks back on his life of decadence, sexual cruelty and orgies, his anti-government writing, and his lust for his wife's sister.
