Claude Williamson - The Claude Williamson Quartet

Broadway, long a fountainhead of this country's most durable music, recently has developed into a major source of inspiration for the jazz virtuoso. A sparkling case in point is this album. The Claude Williamson Quartet, a highly proficient West Coast group comprised of some of jazzdom's leading lights, turns to the Rialto for it's material. It draws it's selections from four of this season's most lustrous newcomers-Jerry Herman's Milk and Honey, Jule Styne's Subways Are For Sleeping, Frank Loesser's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the score from Kean by Robert Wright and George Forrest.
