Clarence Daniels and Obie Jessie's Hard Workin' Girl is one of the most in-demand R&B discoveries of the last few years, which has led to a reappraisal of bandleader Daniels' work for the Kent and Affiliated 45 labels. Although largely undocumented, bass player Daniels was a skilled arranger whose high quality big band worked the lounges of Los Angeles and Las Vegas. This compilation offers the best of his recordings. Featured are four tracks from his session with Jessie, including a previously unheard alternate version of 'Hard Workin' Girl'. In total there are nine unissued titles, running the gamut from raucous R&B and screaming big band jazz to the incredible torch singing of Sandy Miller. Also included is the mod jazz instrumental 'You Dig It' from a rare single. This is the first time recordings from Daniels' two albums have ever been reissued.
