Children of the Wicker Man

For all it's present recognition as a cult favorite and foundational folk horror opus, 1973's "The Wicker Man" met with commercial indifference upon it's release. The fallout for director Robin Hardy-which extended to family, finances, and fissuring with screenwriter and longtime collaborator Anthony Shaffer-is laid out here by his sons, half-brothers Justin and Dominic Hardy, in this compelling documentary consideration of the film's production and legacy, as well as their problematic bonds with their father. 96 min.
