We are proud to present for the first time in any format the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack composed by Carlo Savina for the 1966 Swashbuckler Historical Drama L'UOMO CHE RIDE (The Man Who Laughs) directed by Sergio Corbucci and starring Jean Sorel, Lisa Gastoni, Edmund Purdom, Pierre Clementi, Ilaria Occhini. For this movie Savina wrote a score in a Great Symphonic Manner. Don't forget that Carlo Savina Orchestrated and Conducted the LPs Recording of Miklos Rozsa's "BEN HUR" and "GREAT MOVIE THEMES BY MIKLOS ROZSA". This is a new version of famous German classic of 1928 starring Conrad Veidt. The theme is basically the same: A boy, kidnapped by gypsies, has his face deformed to be always smiling and thus become a circus attraction. Sold to company of traveling artists, he knows a blind girl, for who falls in love. But a great difference exists between both movies: Of England of the king James II, the history was transferred to Italy of the 16ยบ century, in the times of Caesar and Lucretia Borgia. Angelo - the man that always laughs - is a monster, horrendous, much uglier than the character that Veidt interprets in the original film and he will become a killer to service of Borgia. As a bonus we offer a suite from the Rejected Score by Piero Piccioni, written in a more modern and dramatic way. De-Luxe booklet with 16 pages of rare archive photos and posters.
