As the Great Famine grips his homeland in 1847, Irishman and British Army deserter Martin Feeney (James Frecheville) becomes enraged at the death and devastation brought down upon his family. Embarking on a murderous rampage, Feeney is pursued by police investigator Hannah (Hugo Weaving), a fellow former soldier who once fought alongside Feeney in Afghanistan.
