The American singer/songwriter Barry McGuire best known for his hit 60's protest song "Eve of Destruction," formed a folk duo with singer Barry Kane in 1961 which became quite popular at high profile West Coast venues such as the the Ice House in Pasadena, and the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Both singers were also members of the highly influential seminal 60's folk act the New Christy Minstrels. The duo cut their first and only album as Barry & Barry called "Here And Now" which contained some excellent material such as "Gold Wedding Ring," and "Bull 'Gine Run" which are included in the collection presented here. Another popular duo consisting of singers Mike Storm and Tom Drake called the Other Singers would often perform on the same bill with Kane and McGuire and also recorded material in the same vein. Presented here are both groups, who became highly influential on the early West Coast folk scene and continue to inspire new legions of folk artists in the US and abroad. Originally released in 1963, "Star Folk Vol. 3" finally makes it's debut in the digital realm. All selections newly remastered.
