That series was aimed mainly at ballad fans but Gentry's mid-tempo charms made it ideal for the modern soul dance scene. The Kent promo 12" issued at the time is now an in-demand piece of vinyl. Mystery surrounds who wrote Shirley Brown's 'Even If The Signs Are Wrong' but this splendid, lilting soul song deserves a vinyl release.
