Louis Aragon was one of the great figures of 20th century literature and poetry, a magnificent writer and a high priest in the Dada, Surrealist and Realist movements. In addition to his masterpieces, Aragon and his wife Elsa Triolet, who was also his muse, formed a tandem that will always be remembered as one of the most legendary loving couples in history, notably because of the sumptuous poems he dedicated to Elsa throughout his life. In 1961, the record entitled "Les Chansons d'Aragon", in which his poems were set to music and sung by Léo Ferré, would be an unprecedented success. That album is still one of the most important in the 'chanson' genre. This anthology prepared by Olivier Julien devotes two albums to artists who transformed the poet's work into songs, Léo Ferré, Georges Brassens, Catherine Sauvage, and a third album containing the great poems incarnated by Aragon himself.
