Alpha Blondy - Rise

The crowned King of reggae has given us a sublime 11-track album. RISE is a cleverly balanced blend of festive melodies and profound messages articulated around the theme of elevation, the awakening of Africa and oppressed peoples, the struggle for freedoms, justice and the emancipation of spirits broken by epistemicide with Love andForgiveness as a shield. From JAH GLORY to RISE, in forty years the timbre of this very particular raspy tenor voice has not changed, it even seems more youthful over the years. Alpha Blondy is like a Cantor of Emancipation in this musical Re-birth which begins strongly with the title COLD FIRE.
