The band's unique repertoire, centered around original jazz pieces, and it's freely unfolding performances are a highlight.A high-level groove that jazz lovers should definitely experience. This is a piano trio work led by Akira Tana, a world-renowned drummer active mainly in the United States. The members are Kano Shingo on piano and Yorozu Yasutaka on bass. These are the elite members of the Kansai region who have performed at live music venues and other venues whenever Tana has visited Japan. They work in perfect harmony, and the recording proceeded in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere despite the tension. Luna Hall became the California where Tana lives. The repertoire avoids as many standards as possible that are well known to jazz fans, focusing instead on hidden originals (jazz standards) by jazz performers that are not often heard. After producing Kazuhiko Takeda's CD 'Takeda Meets Tana Again' (Waon Records, 2015), Tana and ShinRecbegan discussing the possibility of making another CD. Organizing the recording around Tana's schedule during his visits to Japan proved extremely difficult, resulting in numerous postponements. Finally, during his visit in May of this year, a recording session led by Tana was realized. In selecting the members, Tana expressed a strong desire to give opportunities to young Japanese musicians, resulting in the recording of a piano trio with Shingo Kano (piano) and Yasutaka Ban (bass), two Kansai jazz musicians with whom he had previously performed. The members more than lived up to Tana's expectations, recording 16 tracks over two days. The track list included 11 pieces proposed by Tana (including two originals by Tana), three originals by Kano, and two pieces performed on short notice on the day of recording. Initially, the album was planned to be released on one CD, but it was decided to release all 16 songs on two CDs, as it was difficult to discard any of them.
