Playing like a Japanese "O Brother, Where Art Thou?," writer/director Toshiaki Toyoda's off-the-wall comedy/drama follows a group of nine prison inmates-among them a man who killed his son, a biker, a deranged bomber, a porn merchant, and a dwarf doctor-who break out of jail. Their search for a fellow prisoner's buried fortune in counterfeit bills turns into a funny and often emotional attempt to reconnect with their outside lives.
