Conceived out of a mutual love for the Tascam 238 multitrack cassette machine, members of the Bay Area's M-Tet and Kansas City's Boogaloo 7 come together to form The 238s on this hard-hitting debut 45. The A-Side, "The Itch", is a dance floor burner featuring vocalist Julia Haile, sure to give listeners a case of itchy feet. The B-Side, "The Scratch", is the sweet relief featuring fat and sampler-ready drum breaks, as well as funky horn stabs and a McGriff-esque Hammond organ solo.
