Minding the Gap (Criterion Collection)

During a working-class adolescence in Rockford, IL, Chinese-American emigré Bing Liu turned to filmmaking, skateboarding, and his bond with board park buddies Keire Johnson and Zack Mulligan. In this remarkable, Academy Award-nominated directing bow, Liu offers up footage of the three stunting as kids-and sobering insights into the abusive upbringing all three knew-as well as the challenges his friends face in keeping that trauma from impacting their adult lives. 93 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH); audio commentary; bonus short Nuoc (2010); featurettes; theatrical trailer.
