Merci La Vie

Bertrand Blier approaches provocation with a kind of uneasy calm, crafting a film that drifts between comedy and discomfort without settling into either. Charlotte Gainsbourg and Anouk Grinberg anchor the story as two young women moving through situations that escalate from impulsive decisions into something darker. The film resists moral clarity, instead observing it's characters with a detached curiosity. What emerges is a portrait of behavior untethered from consequence until it very suddenly is not.
