Marked Woman

Clip joint hostess Mary Strauber (Bette Davis) saw her kid sister get murdered for wanting in on her shady lifestyle... and took the offer of a crusading D.A. (Humphrey Bogart) to turn state's witness against her racketeer boss (Eduardo Ciannelli). Needless to say, the thug didn't appreciate it... and gave her a disincentive she'd bear for the rest of her life. Gritty Warner Bros. Crime drama, based in part on the trial of Lucky Luciano, also stars Jane Bryan, Lola Lane, and Mayo Methot (the third Mrs. Bogart). 96 min.
