Mark Hildreth has excelled in not one, but two facets of the entertainment industry. With two born-deaf grandparents, Mark was an unlikely musical wonder. Since the moment he stepped on stage in the opera "Madame Butterfly" at the age of eight, Hildreth's musical career has soared. As an actor Mark had amassed an enviable resume of film and TV credits by the time he graduated high school as well as having established himself as a premier talent in the voice over community. Hildreth has toured Canada and the US, performing in the world-renowned Viper Room, Knitting Factory and The House Of Blues in Hollywood. Mark has since signed a demo deal with Warne Livesey, the prodigious producer of 54-40, Holly McNarland, Midnight Oil and the Mathew Good Band. Mark's first album, "Complex State of Attachment" (2008), was a collection of pop/R&B songs rife with heart, honesty and groove. Mark's career as an actor began at a young age as a series lead in Young Blades. This was only the beginning of his impressive resume, which also lists guest star appearances on the CW's Supernatural, CBC's Being Erica, and SyFy's Eureka. Mark has had stand out recurring roles on Showtime's The Tudors and ABC's sci-fi drama V, among others. In 2007, Mark appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End with Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. This winter, on December 10th, 2012, Mark will release his anticipated second album titled "Signs Of Life" which explores love in it's many states and forms. 'This album is about family. After losing some family members, and gaining some new ones; realizing that loss of childhood is inevitable, and gaining of love from experience is necessary; falling in and out of love, and finding and losing love, I started to realize the meaning and deep importance of family through these songs. Some are songs of commitment, some are songs of heartbreak, some are songs about brothers and some about parents and some about grandparents. All family is precious. All love is familial. And every moment, whether you are happy or sad, is shared in some way with your family. We are the same and we are different. And each heart beats in time with another at so many times in our lives." Mark taught himself to play the piano on an old upright in his parents' home when he was 8 years old. Never having taken a music class, driven by a directed passion rare in kids, he learnt to play purely by ear. Having completed high school and after playing just two gigs, he was invited to showcase at Sony/BMG in New York, and signed a demo deal with renowned producer Warne Livesey. A winner of the 2006 Singer/Songwriter Awards and the Billboard World Song Contest, Mark has an international fan base and an active web presence. With over 180,000 MySpace plays, 85,000 YouTube views and an strong community of bloggers on his website. Mark Hildreth's musical accomplishments are as inspiring as the music itself. Mark released his first album "Complex State of Attachment" to rave reviews. The album has been described as having influences of gospel, soul, pop and R&B, reminiscent of the great singer/songwriters of the early to mid seventies, but with a modern feel. Having already accumulated a loyal following Mark's second album could not come any sooner. Inspired by Elton John and Stevie Wonder, Mark writes all of his own music. Mark makes music with a mission: he wants to create love, honesty and ethics in the world. He has held true to those values, despite current trends in the music industry. At 35, he is creating with more honesty than ever before and he is working to ensure that his music reaches as many people as possible. He has moved from his hometown, his family, and the things that are comfortable for him, to build his career in the hub of all entertainment, Los Angeles.
