Alien vs. Predator

Paul W.S. Anderson constructs this crossover as an exercise in merging mythologies, placing human characters within a conflict that ultimately does not belong to them. Beneath Antarctic ice, the discovery of an ancient structure becomes the entry point into a ritualistic battle between two iconic species. The film emphasizes scale and design, often allowing it's creatures to dictate the narrative direction. What remains is a spectacle driven less by character than by concept.
