Melissa Brethauer's debut CD, 'Waiting,' was originally headed for eight tracks that she had narrowed down from the couple dozen she'd written over the years. Fortunately for music lovers who purchase this CD, her creativity flourished and life events took place during the recording process, resulting in four new songs (one of the original eight was dropped), to bring to eleven the total number of tracks on the completed project. Classically trained on the piano, Melissa's skills on the keys are highlighted on three vocal tracks plus the 'Interlude,' which is an instrumental spun off of the track it leads into. The other seven are guitar songs, and her vocal range shines throughout the disc. The CD's producer, Dominick Pages, drew upon his skills and experience to develop visions for Melissa's unique songwriting style. Add in an artist that Melissa brought in to play violin on two songs and there's something here for everyone.
