And those are the songs....a lot of my soul, and a few tears went into this collection, far and away more than any previous album. As always, Janet was right there by my side while I was writing, making sure that I wrote hard and didn't go for the cheap rhyme...which is pretty much what she's done with my life for the past twenty-two years. Thank you and I love you, for you truly are my good road going home. I also owe a huge bit of gratitude to Nate and Kate. I thank you two for giving me so much material about which to write. It has always been an honor to be your father, and usually a pleasure as well. You are the song in my heart and I love you guys. (Good cover photo Katie, thanks.) Dennis and Debbie, thank you for the laughter and the tears, and for thirty years of friendship. And Dennis, I couldn't have written that song without you. Thanks for being there for me yet again. Patrick and Kathy, thank you for a house that is truly a home, and an excellent place to write. That Feng Shui fella really knows how to build 'em. Jim Page, most of all I appreciate how you always make yourself at home in our house, but a close second is for your encouragement over the years. If not for you, I might still be wearing a suit. (And thanks for letting me use This Land.) Brother John, thanks for your support as far back as I can remember...from chasing pigs to letting me use your guitar. Brother Ed, thanks for introducing me to folk music. Frank, there are some good memories and only one Second Saturday Music Fest, thanks for teaching me how to bar chords. And finally, thank you to all my patrons over the years, from the Pike Place Market to Harvard Square, and all the stages in between...for keeping it not too bitter, not too sweet. Peace.
