As early as 1949, this Detroit bluesman recorded with John Lee Hooker-and in the '70s, he became hugely popular in England and Europe, touring and recording frequently. Eddie recorded many fine sides under his own name; this comp includes his 1961 favorite "Orange Driver" (drummer: Marvin Gaye!) plus "Gangster Blues," "Grieving Blues," "The Thing to Do," "Squeeze Me Baby," "Mean and Evil"27 tracks including sides (featuring Eddie) by Detroit harmonica man Little Sonny!
