Paul Peek was perhaps Rock & Roll's ultimate "nearly" man, remaining rather more famous for his role as one of Gene Vincent's Blue Caps than for his own records. As although a couple of his solo 45s were strong sellers, Paul somehow never quite made it, despite a succession of fine releases. He nonetheless tasted success, and was inducted into the R&R Hall Of Fame as a member of Vincent's Blue Caps. This unique compilation anthologises Peek's own releases between 1958-62, including collectables like 'Sweet Skinny Jenny', 'The Rock-A-Round' (featuring Esquerita on piano), 'Olds-Mo-William', 'Short Shortnin' and 'Brother-In-Law (He's A Moocher)', the latter, his only Top 100 entry. As bonus tracks, it also includes selected Gene Vincent sides from 1957-58 on which Peek made an audible contribution as a guitarist or singer, or were songs that he'd written
