Al Kooper - Original Album Classics

Following his success with the Blues Project and Blood, Sweat & Tears-and his triumphs with Mike Bloomfield-Al put out his own streak of excellent LPs on Columbia. Here are five from his late-'60s/early-'70s prime: the charting I Stand Alone, You Never Know Who Your Friends Are, Easy Does It and New York City (You're a Woman) plus 1973's Naked Songs. You'll find many highlights from his long career and flavors of country, gospel, blues and soul: Jolie, Blind Baby, Brand New Day, Buckskin Boy, New York City, John the Baptist, The Great American Marriage / Nothing, Don't Know Why I Love You, Song and Dance for the Unborn Frightened Child and more, with Al shining on both guitar and keys throughout!
